DAY 1 -- ARRIVE IN ACCRA
- Arrive at Kotaka
International Airport, transfer and check into hotel.
- Visit Independence
Square (also known as Black Star Square), home of Arch and flame of
African Liberation. Continue to the Kwame Knrumah Memorial, the mausoleum
of Ghana's first President. (please not afternoon arrivals will visit
these sites on the 7th day.
- Evening at Leisure.
Overnight at The Novotel Accra City Centre Hotel or similar.
DAY 2 – ACCRA (Meals Included - Breakfast)
- Tour James Town, a
part of ACCRA featuring colonial era architecture including 1 30 km high
lighthouse Fort James.
- Continue to Usher
Town, where you will see Fort Ushser, a former prison where Kwame Nkrumah
was once held. See Osu Castle (also known as Christiansbourg Castle)
constructed by Denmark in the 1600's and the seat of government from 1876
to the present.
- Continue to the
National Theater to see a display of traditional instruments and carvings
including Male and female handcrafted drums. See the traditional crafts
and other ethnographic displays at Museum.
- Overnight at
the Novotel Accra City Centre Hotel or Similar
DAY 3 -- CAPE COAST (Meals Included - Breakfast)
- After breakfast,
depart Accra for Cape Coast,, Tour Elmina Castle, a Unesco World Heritage
site build in 1842. This castle was the first European structure in
sub-Saharan Africa.
- Continue to Cape Coast
Castle and the Castle Museum for a guided tour. Cape Coast Castle is
another restored UNESCO World heritage Site, and one of the departure
points for Africans being sent to the Americas. The castle is home to
the infamous Door of No Return.

DAY 4 -- CAPE
COAST/KUMASI (Meals
Included - Breakfast)
After breakfast, depart Cape Coast Visit the
Ndonkor Nsuo (Slave River) in Assin Manson where captured and Africans had
their last bath before confined and await their departure to the Americas.
- Arrive in Kumasi,
where you will visit the Prempreh II Jubilee Museum named for the former
Acanthine (ruler of the Ashanti people) Nana Osei Agyeman Prempreh II.
Exhibits include what is said to be a replica of the famed Golden Stool,
which is believed to have descended from the sky and is the spiritual
symbol of the Ashanti people.
- In the afternoon,
continue to see the Okomfo Anokye Sword, ad important symbol of Ashantee
unity that marks the spot where the Golden Stool descended from the sky
and has been in place for 300 years.Legend says the Ashanti kingdom would
collapse should the sword ever be removed.
- Visit Marniya Palace,
which remains in use by the Asantehene today and houses a small historical
museum.

DAY 5 -- KUMASI (Meals Included - Breakfast)
- After breakfast,visit
Kumasi Central Market (also known as Kejetia Market) the largest open air
market in West Africa where more than 10,000 vendors sell just about
everything imaginable.
- Tour Kumasi Fort,
completed by the British in 1897 and the site of the Ashanti Rebellion
initiated by Queen Mother Yaa Asantewaa in 1900. View a collection of
weapons, photos and memorabilia.
- Return to
Accra in the afternoon. Overnight at Sir Max Hotel or (similar)
DAY 6 -- ACCRA (Meals Included - Breakfast)
- Visit the WEB Du Bois
Center, the former home and burial place of WEB DU BOIS now transformed
into a research center and library.
- In the afternoon,
visit the University of Ghana, home to a library filled with colonial era
books and documents, and the Museum of Archeology where you will see
displays on ancient crafts, human prehistory, Elmina Castle and more.
- Overnight at Novotel

DAY 7 -- ACCRA/DEPART (Meals Included - Breakfast)
- Visit Independence
Square (also known as Black Star Square) home of Independence Arch and the
Flame of African Liberation.

rare natural phenomena caused by a unique combination of microorganism and
high concentration of salts which gives the lake its pink color. Interact
with the "Salt Harvesters"
- Continue the afternoon
of St. Louis, Senegal's former French Colonial Capital.

- Tour of St.Louis, the
former colonial capital of Senegal which still has the appearance of an
old provincial town - circa 1800's. Explore the narrow streets flanked by

- Today reroute to
Dakar, visit the National Bird Sanctuary which has a vast array birds
included pelicans, ducks flamingoes among others.

DAY 1 -- JOHANNESBURG
- International flight
arrives in Johannesburg. You will meet, assisted and transferred to your

- In the afternoon,
depart on a tour to Soweto.

2 -- JOHANNESBURG/ KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (Meals Included – Breakfast, Dinner)
- Depart Johannesburg
along the N4 Highway towards Mpumalanga Province. Spend the day exploring
this beautiful region. Enjoy the magnificent view from God's Window
across the Blyde Lowveld, the natural splendor of Bourke's Potholes
and quaint old mining town of Pilgrims Rest.
- Enter the world famous
Kruger Park.
DAY 3 -- KRUGER NATIONAL
PARK (Meals Included –
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
- Enjoy a full day of
games viewing in open vehicles in search of the "BIG FIVE"
namely lions, elephant buffaloes, rhinos and leopards. During the heat of
the day, stop for a leisurely lunch at one or the camps.
- Return to the camp
in time for dinner.
DAY 4 -- KRUGER NATIONAL PARK/JOHANNESBURG (Meals Included – Breakfast)
- Starting at dawn and
do a thorough morning drive taking in as much as possible on this your
last day in the Park. By this time hopefully you have caught a glimpse of
elusive Leopard.
- Have breakfast and
depart thereafter for the scenic drive towards Johannesburg. Explore the
Mpuma Panorama route, and along the way we visit some breathtaking views
and spectacular scenery. Our first stop is God's Window, an
over whelming beautiful viewpoint with a 100m drop in the "Loweveld"
at Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Blyde (happy) and the Treur (sad) Rivers
meet up and a magnificent display in the Blyde River Canyon. We stroll
back in time, down the historic main street of Pilgrim's Rest. It
takes us back to the days when dreamers and desperadoes from around the
world converged on this little known valley in a hectic scramble for
the riches that lay beneath its grassy hillsides.
- Return to
Johannesburg.
DAY 5 -- JOHANNESBURG/CAPE TOWN (Meals Included – Breakfast)
- Enjoy a few hours of
shopping alone of the shopping malls in Rosebank or Sandton before being
transferred to the Johannesburg International Airport for your flight to
Cape Town.
DAY 6 -- CAPE TOWN (Meals Included – Breakfast)

Early morning, take the cable car to the Table Mountain
(weather permits) for a fabulous view of Cape Town and the Cape
Peninsular.

In the afternoon, depart by ferry to Robben Island for
a tour of the Island and prison where Nelson Mandela spent 26 years.
DAY 7 -- CAPE TOWN (Meals Included –

Enjoy Africa's Premier route to the romantic meeting
place of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Sir Francis Drake, the explorer,
called it "the fairest Cape the we saw in the circumference to the
Globe". This tour offers a full and excited day our visiting Hout Bay,
Chapman's Peak, Cape Point Nature reserve Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope,
Penguin Colony, the Fish Hoek Gallery, Simonstown, Constantia and the world
famous Kirstenbosch Gardens.
DAY 8 -- CAPE TOWN /DEPART (Meals Included –
Breakfast)
- This tour of the wine
lands is unique as its one of the few that visit the areas of Paarl,
Franschoek and Stellenbosch. Enjoy wine tasting in the Stellenbosch area
and a visit to the town that includes the village Museum.
- Afternoon transfer to
Cape Town International Airport for flight to Johannesburg to connect to
your onward flight.
